At our old house, my office was in the basement and I had good separation from the noise in other parts of the house. In our current home, my office is on the main floor and I have glass doors that do next to nothing to block sound or sight. For some reason, I only started doing this about two years ago, after I had already been working from home for eight years or more.

I’ll admit, I haven’t done this as often as I would like, but as our kids get older, this is starting to become more regular. Being self-employed and working from home, I get to choose when I take my days off. I maintain pretty regular working hours, but it’s great to have flexibility when it’s needed. I’ve also been able to work while traveling, which is probably one of the biggest perks of my job.

Reasons to Love Working From Home
As much as our pets benefit from us being home, we also stand to gain from spending additional time with them. It gets old fast, as does customer service, especially with complaining customers. I am experiencing it myself and finding it quite hard to stay focused and determined to finish my tasks on time. And while sometimes this might not be efficient, I realized that this has helped me develop and learn so many new skills. Well that’s just about it and I wouldn’t say working from home is better than any job. Some of you would enjoy being inside four corners of your office, classrooms, or out in the fields. We might struggle more than the others, but we certainly face similar challenges and problems of the work we love. With no doubt, there’s really a presence of gossips working at an office.
